Hello, hello!
The Christmas season is here. If you woke up to having your house decorated here on Clumsy Linguist, don’t worry - we do this every year to make the whole planet nice and festive! Nothing to worry about.
And the Christmas candles in every room are definitely not a fire hazard. *laughs nervously*
Language Lessons
I like to keep a table of irregular verbs I’ve learned in every language. I write them down at the end of my grammar notebook and then I revise them a few times a year.
It might sound tiresome, but believe me, it’s saved me so many times in exams and when I’m speaking to people out loud. Drilling is sometimes the most effective way.
Sad but true. So write those verbs down. I write the conjugation in the present tense for all six categories (I am, you are, he/she/it is, we are, you are, they are), after which I also add irregularities for past tenses and whatnot (I was, I have been).

I’ll be honest with you, I’ve been a bit slow with my reading the past two weeks. I managed to read two books, out of which I’ve decided to mention The Midnight Library by Matt Haig.
This is a book about regret. The main heroine Nora has so many regrets about her life that she decides to take her own life (not a spoiler, it happens at the beginning). She finds herself in a library, a place between Life and Death, where she has the choice to choose from an infinite amount of lives she’s lived - each is different because they’re all divided by the small or big choices she’s made throughout her life.
She gets to live those lives. Explore those opportunities. And deal with her regret.
I thoroughly enjoyed reading this book. It was easy in the best way possible while also providing the reader with some food for thought. I’ve always loved the idea of multiple dimensions, and this book lives up to its promise.

I bought myself white shoes recently. I know, I know. Not the best idea. But they looked so nice! So shiny!
Well, I managed to take good care of them for about a month. Then I visited Glasgow in Scotland for a bit - I went out with these shoes on once. Once. That’s all it took. Remember, if you ever go to Glasgow, don’t wear white shoes. Especially in winter.
They might not be so white afterwards.
I hope you’re having a lovely Saturday and I’ll speak to you in 2 weeks! Merry Christmas!
